Erotic massage in Prague: a guide for visitors

Prague has a large and openly advertised erotic massage sector, and if you are visiting the city it is genuinely difficult to tell the good venues from the ones that exist to overcharge people who will never come back. Here is what to know.

The legal position

Erotic massage salons operate legally in the Czech Republic. The standard arrangement is that the salon rents rooms to independent masseuses and advertises them; the salon itself does not sell sexual services, and reputable venues state this plainly. This is why you will see a disclaimer to that effect in the footer of nearly every Czech salon website, including ours.

What things actually cost

• A base erotic massage, 60 minutes: roughly 1,500–2,000 CZK.
• Nuru, tantra or body to body, 60 minutes: roughly 2,000–3,000 CZK.
• A signature or combined treatment, 60 minutes: roughly 3,000 CZK.
• Two masseuses: expect close to double, not a discount.
• A show: 4,000–6,000 CZK depending on length.

If a venue advertises 800 CZK for an hour, the price is not the price. That is the single most reliable signal in this industry.

How to spot a venue worth going to

• A published, complete price list — with durations, and with the two-masseuse prices shown.
• Real photographs of the actual rooms, not stock interiors.
• A named street address rather than 'central Prague'.
• Booking by message, with confirmation, rather than 'just turn up'.
• Clear statements about what is and is not offered.

Practical notes for visitors

Most salons in the centre are within walking distance of the Old Town Square, and most are open far later than anything else. Cash in CZK is universally accepted and euros usually are, though the rate you get for them will rarely be generous — pay by card or in crowns if you can. Tipping is normal but not obligatory, and nobody will make an issue of it.

If you would rather not visit a salon at all, most reputable venues offer a hotel service where the masseuse travels to you. Expect to pay a premium of around 1,000 CZK over the salon price for the same treatment.

One thing worth doing

Message before you go, even if the venue takes walk-ins. It costs nothing, it tells you whether the people answering are professional, and it confirms the price in writing before you are standing in a doorway deciding under pressure.
